About

A short biography in plain prose.

I’m Chirag Mittal. I build interfaces for a living and tinker with them for fun. The dividing line is rarely clean.

I started shipping things on the internet in school, then spent four years at MSRUAS taking Computer Science seriously enough to graduate as a Gold Medalist with a 9.4 CGPA. Before that I topped my CBSE Computer Science exam at 94%.

I joined CRED in January 2020 when the frontend team was four people. By the time I left, it was eleven — I helped hire most of them. Along the way I built 0→1 products (Garage, RentPay, Mint, Access, Rewards), led the redesign of the entire app with the NeoPop design system, and open-sourced the underlying React library to 871★.

In April 2025 I joined Zamp AI as Lead Engineer. The job was roughly: make a dashboard that AI agents can actually drive, keep it fast, and build the foundations the rest of the team would stand on. Dashboard load went 12s → 2s, and a 10-day feature cycle came down to 2.

In February 2026 I moved to Sarvam AI as Lead Software Engineer. I architect LLM-native UI primitives and AI-augmented developer workflows for the Indus app — shipped 0→1 launch in two weeks at 4.8 on the App Store, drove crash rate from 16% to 0.01%, and helped close an OEM partnership with HMD Global (Nokia).

Off the keyboard I lift, run, travel slowly, and read more than I finish. Currently between Delhi and Bengaluru.
